A Short Introduction to Wiang Kaen Mission Centre

The Catholic Mission Center of Wiang Kaen, is run by Thai Missionaries – Reverend Father Paul Anurak Prachongkit and a Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus nun – Sister Bernard Pranee Trithara.

This center, located at a Province in Northern Thailand, Wiang Kaen, was set up at least 12 years ago to reach out to the Hmong and Yao hill tribes along the border in Northern Thailand, Chiang Rai. Asides evangelization, its main objective is to provide education, food and lodging for the poorest children from the surrounding 30 villages. To date, they have about 60 children living with them and funding is a constant source of concern as they are not a publicly funded charitable organization.

The centre runs based on donations as well as selling some craft items to support the poor and needy children, to be educated to help alleviate their poverty. The contributions are to support the children food, lodging, transport and education.
